Awareness
FIVOne of the many unfortunate consequences of living outdoors is the risk of contracting Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) as cats fight for food and territory. A small number of cats in our shelter have this disease but it is not a kiss of death, nor does it necessarily require these animals to be only-cats. Please learn about this disease and see the photos of our FIV cats that would dearly love (and deserve) a home of their own.
Semi-FeralsSay the words “feral cat” and most people imagine a fierce, aggressive animal. In truth, most are frightened. But they are the survivors. Many have survived abandonment, or being lost. Some are the children of lost or abandoned cats so they have never known a warm, safe, loving home. With love and gentle patience, many can overcome their unlucky past. Learn more about feral cats and see some of our cats that are slowly but bravely learning to trust – some of them for the very first time.
Early Spay / NeuterPet overpopulation is a significant problem and one that can easily be addressed by the simple act of having your pets spayed or neutered. Learn more about it.
