Welcome to MetroWest Humane Society
Meet our cats & kittens
Please come and visit all the wonderful animals we have for adoption, who are looking for loving homes.
Now that you've found the purrfect kitty, you can download our adoption application to get the process started.
MWHS Initiates a Barn Cat Program!
Some of the cats brought to MWHS have had minimal contact with people and despite our best efforts to socialize them, some will never become house cats. Yet, these cats can be very happy and live useful lives as barn cats.
If you have an outbuilding or barn that can provide a safe haven for our cats, please consider adopting one or more. We can provide you with additional information to help you decide if adopting a barn cat is right for you and your life style. If you would be interested in discussing the possibilities, please fill out an application, return it to us, and we will get back to you to continue the conversation.

MWHS Kitty Korner Gift Shop Now Open!
MWHS has the newest gift shop in town! Where can you find adorable pet-related items, exquisite handmade jewelry, stunning handmade quilts, and lots, lots more? At the MetroWest Humane Society shelter.
Part of our shelter expansion is a beautiful gift shop. Rather than fight mall traffic, why not stop by and visit – it is open to the public during our shelter adoption hours – and you need not be adopting a new friend. You won’t do your “specialty” gift shopping anywhere else.
MWHS volunteers Elizabeth Whitham and Beatrice Mahr, who manage the store, would be happy to answer any questions for you or meet you there at an appointed time. Please call Elizabeth at 508-881-5051 or Beatrice at 508-628-4028.
Mission Statement
The MetroWest Humane Society is a “no-kill” animal shelter. The animals in our care are never euthanized merely because we lack space or because the animal’s stay with us has exceeded a pre-defined amount of time.
