Doodles & Rocky
It has been a while since we have been in touch, so I thought I would just drop you a line to let you know how "Rocky" and "Doodles" are doing now! Of course, we now know them as "Gaston" and "Marcel" respectively. They're getting neutered next week - how time flies!
In short, they are amazing. The neatest thing is that Gaston, or Rocky, has become a huge cuddle machine. It seemed to happen overnight - first we noticed that he was dry-nursing a lot when we were nearby, and whevever we put our hands on him, he would start purring like a machine. Now, whenever we're sitting down somewhere, he gives this little meow and hops on our laps, or right next to us, and starts purring and butting his head into us so we'll pet him. It has been the most amazing transformation!
Marcel is doing great, too, except for his eye, which is still infected. He has become a very athletic and muscular cat. Our vet is very excited about how much weight he's gained. He's the teenager of the house (while Gaston is still the baby) - he's always running around like crazy, knocking things over and exploring high-up shelves in the pantry, and he has become a little less affectionate than he was a couple of months ago -teenage rebellion I guess! The exception is at night (we let them sleep with us), when he curls up around our heads and faces. He'll purr all night and even lick and bite our faces, like he does with Gaston. It's a little annoying, but very cute.
The two of them still love each other like crazy they haven't grown out of that! They're both still incredibly sweet and good-natured cats, and they still cuddle with us as well as with each other all the time. It's really quite heartbreaking. They take really well to strangers, and whenever we have friends over the house, they put on a little show and act extra-cute for them, curling up on their laps and everything. Basically, they're fantastic cats and we're really proud of them. I'll send you a separate email with photos of them, which we said we'd send you a while ago. In some of them, you can see that their faces have gotten a little more mature. In our opinion, though, they get cuter every day! Take care, and hope you are well, Alison and Kathryn
