Our Surrender Policy
Giving up a pet can be a difficult decision but we recognize there are times when it may be the only reasonable option for the well-being of the pet or the family. We are considerate and understanding when this emotional moment occurs. If you are surrendering your pet due to behavioral issues, please call us for some guidance before making the final decision.
You will be asked to complete a written profile so we can address the specific needs of the pet and inform potential adopters of the pet’s history, likes and dislikes, and other pertinent information.
Our shelter is generally full at all times. We will work with you to accommodate your needs, but we ask that you understand our circumstances as well. If you are unable to document that your pet is up to date on all medical care (see above), we must ask for a surrender fee to recover our costs.
